Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts is seeking a kitchen professional to prepare food of consistent quality and assist in various kitchen functions at our Times Square property. This role requires handling a range of equipment and ensuring adherence to food safety and quality standards.

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, with responsibilities spanning prep, station setup, and collaboration with servers.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Finger/hand dexterity to operate food machinery.
• Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or move goods weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and standards per server checks.
• Start pre-prepared items without over-portioning.
• Date, rotate, and store perishables per standards.
• Check pars, determine prep needs, and keep buffet stocked.
• Return unused items to storage with proper dating.
• Assist in correcting food cost and waste issues per standards.
• Operate and clean all kitchen equipment.
• Maintain regular attendance and be available for shifts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
