Job summary

HEI Hotels and Resorts is seeking a kitchen team member for our downtown San Diego property. Prepare food of consistent quality and assist in kitchen functions, following recipe cards and production standards.

Ensure proper storage, dating, and rotation of perishables, while monitoring pars and assisting in buffet upkeep. The role requires physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs, strong communication, and reliability to support servers and shift operations.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry up to 100 lbs.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt communication style for different audiences.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipes and standards.
• Start items prepared ahead of time and date/rotate perishables.
• Maintain equipment and work area safely and cleanly.
