HEI Hotels & Resorts in San Diego seeks a kitchen team member to prepare food of consistent quality and assist in all kitchen functions. You will start ahead items, rotate perishables, and ensure proper temperatures and storage, maintaining standards and efficiency.

You will operate, maintain and clean kitchen equipment, monitor pars, assist with cost control, and support shift success. Regular attendance and cooperation with team are required.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Dexterity to operate food machinery.
• Ability to grasp, lift and carry up to 100 lbs.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards, per check from servers.
• Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, ensuring not to over-prepare estimated needs.
• Date all food containers and rotate as per HEI Hotels and Resorts standards, keeping perishables at proper temperatures.
• Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line setup; note shortages and keep buffet stocked.
• Return all food items not used on the next shift to storage areas, covering and dating perishables.
• Assist in setting up plans to correct food cost problems and reduce waste per standards.
• Operate, maintain, and clean deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, ovens, and other equipment.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available on a regular basis.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
