Highgate Hotels in Rockville, MD is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to coordinate housekeeping functions and stand in for the Housekeeping Manager when needed.

The role requires overseeing Room Attendants, maintaining standards, attending to VIP rooms, managing daily assignments, and ensuring guest satisfaction through attentive service and efficient operations. You will monitor carts, linens, and supply inventories, train staff, and ensure safety and quality across floors.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• College coursework helpful.
• 2–3 years progressive hotel/related field experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
• Ability to stand during entire shift.
• Effective verbal and written communication with staff and guests.

Responsibilities

• Inspect Room Attendant’s work performance daily to ensure standards and productivity.
• In absence of Manager, inspect VIP rooms and report availability to Front Office.
• Oversee closing of floors and restock carts.
• Maintain records of daily assignments and submit on time.
• Maintain key control and handle Lost and Found items.
• Monitor cleanliness of carts, linen closets, and stairways.
• Assign daily duties and ensure staff carry a work assignment.
• Carry active pager/radio to stay in contact with Front Office/Engineering.
• Report progress of out-of-order rooms to Guest Services Manager.
• Initiate work orders for repairs and follow through to completion.
• Assist with training of housekeeping staff.
• May be required to clean rooms as needed.
• Ensure completion of cleaning projects biannually and overall guest satisfaction.
