Job summary

Highgate Hotels in Rockville, MD is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee daily housekeeping operations and support the Housekeeping Manager in their absence. You will supervise Room Attendants, ensure standards, and maintain inventory and safety protocols.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 2–3 years of hotel experience, previous supervisory responsibilities, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
• Ability to stand during entire shift.
• Effective communication with all levels of employees and guests.

Responsibilities

• Inspect Room Attendant’s work performance daily to ensure standards and productivity.
• In absence of the Manager, inspect VIP rooms and report availability to Front Office.
• Oversee closing of floors and restocking of carts.
• Maintain records of daily assignments and sign-off on time.
• Maintain key control and Lost and Found items per standards.
• Monitor cleanliness and orderliness of carts, linen closets, and stairwells.
• Oversee daily assignment of duties and ensure staff carry a work assignment.
• Carry a pager/radio to stay in contact with Front Office/Engineering.
• Report progress of out-of-order rooms to Guest Services Manager.
