Job summary

La Colombe d'Or Restaurant and Hotel LLC is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to administer and coordinate housekeeping functions in assigned sections, inspect guest rooms, ensure they are cleaned to standards, assist room attendants as needed, and provide necessary training.

In the absence of the Housekeeping Manager, you will assume all related duties, supervise all housekeeping staff, maintain records of daily assignments, oversee supply and linen management, and enforce policies to guarantee

Qualifications

• At least 2 to 3 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• College coursework in related field helpful.
• Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly service-oriented manner.
• Maintain regular attendance in compliance with hotel standards.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including proper uniform.
• Comply with hotel standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Inspect staff work performance daily to ensure standards and productivity.
• In the absence of the Housekeeping Manager, inspect VIP rooms and report availability to Front Office.
• Oversee the closing of floors at day end and restock linen carts.
• Ensure records of daily assignments are completed and signed off for Housekeeping Office.
• Maintain key control system.
• Supervise all housekeeping staff and hold them accountable for performance.
• Submit documentation regarding poor performance, misconduct, absenteeism, lateness, and attire.
• Handle Lost and Found items per standards.
• Familiarize with all hotel policies and rules.
• Ensure associates are attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to guests and staff.
• Oversee appearance, cleanliness and orderliness of staff areas.
• Assign daily duties to Room Attendants and House Persons.
• Monitor cleanliness of carts, linen closets, control closets, stairways and landings.
• Report progress of out-of-order rooms to Guest Services Manager daily.
• Initiate and follow through on maintenance work orders.
• Oversee proper and constructive training of Room Attendants.
• Motivate, coach and counsel staff as needed.
• Collect keys and assignments at shift end.
• Attend meetings as required by Management.
• Monitor VIPs and special guest requests.
