Job summary

The Saint Paul Hotel in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a maintenance team member to support the engineering group with grounds and building upkeep, routine maintenance, and minor repairs. This is a full-time, on-site role with weekend and holiday shifts required.

You'll assist the gardener, operate lawn and snow equipment, handle guest assistance tasks, and perform minor repairs while maintaining safety standards and proper documentation.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years related maintenance experience and/or training.
• Knowledge of electricity, plumbing, HVAC, and building maintenance.
• Have a valid driver’s license and meet company and insurer’s driving requirements.
• Able to work any day, evening, or weekend shifts as scheduled.
• The employee must move up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Specific vision abilities required including close, color, peripheral, depth and focus.

Responsibilities

• Effectively and efficiently completes assigned work orders and guest room punch checklists within time frames and to hotel standards.
• Cleans and organizes work area and dock area daily; safely operates and stores department tools and equipment.
• Routine inspection and maintenance of hotel vehicles, including vehicle cleaning and par levels of fluids and tire pressure.
• Assists Gardener with flowers, trees, shrubs, mulch and soil, trimming trees, installing and removing outdoor lighting and decorations.
• Operates equipment such as lawn mower, spreader, tiller, lift and snow removal equipment; suggest repairs as needed.
• Assists guests and employees, including adjusting room temperatures, vehicle service, and moving furniture.
• Accurately makes keys as requested by hotel management; runs errands using company vehicles; secures and drives banquet trucks as needed.
• Complies with safety regulations and rooftop safety policies; completes other duties as assigned.
