Job summary

Sonesta Hotels International Corporation in Baltimore is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to perform general upkeep of the hotel’s physical plant, safety standards, and daily repairs across all areas.

You will handle preventive maintenance, respond to guest and staff requests, coordinate with other departments, and help maintain lobby, guest rooms, and outdoor areas. This role requires basic trades skills and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or related vocational training preferred.
• 1+ year of general building maintenance and repair experience.
• Ability to lift up to 300 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Complete minor work orders and perform preventative maintenance.
• Prepare and operate equipment for the following day.
• Monitor electrical systems and lighting; perform minor repairs.
• Refurbish furniture and fixtures in guest rooms.
• Maintain front entrances, parking areas, and exteriors.
• Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
• Respond promptly to guest questions and requests to ensure satisfaction.
• Promote teamwork with other departments and assist with other duties.
