Job summary

The Melrose Georgetown Hotel is seeking a Chief Engineer to ensure the hotel stays in peak operating condition. You will lead maintenance across the building, supervise a team, and drive preventive programs while coordinating with management.

Strong HVAC, electrical, plumbing and building systems expertise is essential, as is the ability to read blueprints and lead safety initiatives. The role requires flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel engineering experience required, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, commercial kitchen and general building construction.
• Vocational training, associate's degree, certification and/or apprenticeship in one or more area; state certification or licensure where required.
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings, diagrams and blue prints. Read and understand test equipment and measuring devices
• Strong business communication skills verbal and written
• Flexible to work varying schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Someone who enjoys working as and being part of a team that provides great experiences for our Guests!
• Physical Requirements (In-Office Role) will stand, walk, bend, lift 10–25 pounds as needed

Responsibilities

• Make sure the hotel is in great working order and meet all operational standards of the Engineering Department.
• Conduct walk-throughs and assess maintenance and operation of the hotel structure, systems and equipment.
• Responsible for preventive maintenance programs for rooms and public areas; keep records updated.
• Work with hotel management and General Manager.
• Hire, train, supervise, coach and counsel associates, including managers.
• Ensure grounds are maintained to provide a great arrival experience.
• Implement safety and emergency policies and procedures (OSHA Hazcom) and address hazards.
