Job summary

The Melrose Georgetown Hotel in Washington, DC is seeking a seasoned Chief Engineer to lead the Engineering Department. You will ensure the property operates safely and efficiently, overseeing HVAC, electrical, plumbing and building systems.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, performing preventive maintenance, coordinating with the General Manager, and enforcing OSHA HazCom policies to deliver a superior guest experience.

Qualifications

• Hotel engineering experience including HVAC, electrical, plumbing.
• Read and interpret blueprints and test equipment readings.
• Strong verbal and written business communication.
• Flexible to work nights, weekends, holidays.
• Team-oriented with guest-focused service mindset.
• Ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hotel operations per Engineering standards.
• Conduct maintenance inspections of building systems.
• Supervise, train and coach engineering staff.
• Ensure safety policies and OSHA HazCom compliance.
• Coordinate with General Manager and management team.
• Oversee grounds upkeep and preventive maintenance program.
