Job summary

Viceroy Washington DC is hiring a Director of Engineering to lead a team across both hotel and corporate challenges. The role prioritizes the base hotel (at least 80%) and requires strong relationships with property teams and the Corporate office.

You will develop SOPs, promote energy conservation, and oversee preventative maintenance while ensuring safe, efficient operations. The position demands leadership, regular attendance at required meetings, and the ability to mentor engineers.

Qualifications

• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Travel related to company business sometimes required.
• Ability to stand during entire shift.

Responsibilities

• Maintain base hotel operations with a focus on the hotel site.
• Build relationships with properties in the area and Corporate office.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and policies.
• Drive energy conservation initiatives and promote their use.
• Promote preventative maintenance across the organization.
• Advance the engineering discipline within the organization.
• Participate in regular conference calls and meetings.
• Support Directors of Engineering and area departments through training and mentoring.
• Conduct property audits using standardized engineering audit formats.
• Analyze products and processes and advise on capital equipment and new technology.
• Assist in budgeting and planning for hotels in the area as needed.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and hotel standards.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and safe, efficient operations.
• Communicate effectively with employees and guests at all levels.
