Job summary

Virgin Hotels seeks a Director of Engineering to lead hotel maintenance, oversee the maintenance department, and ensure all systems operate safely and efficiently. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong problem-solving, and collaboration with vendors and corporate teams.

You will manage exterior and interior equipment, support capital projects, and mentor staff to uphold Virgin service standards, including safety training and emergency response readiness.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive hotel or building management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Clear concise written and verbal communication in English.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
• Experience with hotel openings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review contracts and negotiate revisions with vendors, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Plan, organize, and direct maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.
• Inspect projects to monitor compliance with codes and regulations.
• Coordinate with Home Office Team and corporate maintenance on projects.
• Lead and develop maintenance staff to Virgin service standards.
• Ensure safety procedures and training are in place.
