Job summary

Hyatt Regency Reston is seeking a Director of Engineering to oversee hotel maintenance and engineering operations. The role reports to the General Manager and involves leadership exposure to Senior and Corporate leadership, with responsibilities for the maintenance department, safety programs, and vendor collaboration.

The position requires heavy involvement in capital projects, budgeting, and ensuring adherence to codes while maintaining the property's appearance and operational readiness.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive hotel or building management experience.
• Senior role within facility management.
• Proficiency in English written and spoken.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with vendors, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
• Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems
• Prepare and submit budget estimates and progress and cost tracking reports
• Develop and implement quality control programs
• Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations
• Maintain communications with Corporate Staff
• Coach and counsel employees to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures
