Job summary

Halekulani Corp. in Honolulu, Hawaii, seeks a seasoned Engineering Manager to lead the Engineering department, overseeing maintenance of the hotel's building, systems, and grounds, and ensuring safe, efficient operations that support guest comfort and asset protection.

You will manage preventive maintenance, budgets, and capital projects, and mentor staff while aligning with brand standards and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate.
• Associate degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
• Five (5) years of general maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel, residential condominium, or commercial building, and two (2) years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to meet the minimum qualifications and perform the position’s essential functions.

Responsibilities

• Oversees operation, maintenance and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems.
• Maintains front-of-house and back-of-house areas to the highest standards.
• Inspects and troubleshoots critical building systems and supervises repairs.
• Responds to emergencies and develops response plans.
• Establishes preventive maintenance program for building equipment and guestrooms.
• Adjusts work priorities and schedules to meet work order demands.
• Ensures licenses, permits and certifications are current.
• Trains staff on safety requirements and service expectations.
• Manages payroll, labor reporting, and project administration.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate
