Job summary

Kahala Hotel & Resort is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the Engineering department, coordinating carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC tasks across the facility. You will guide maintenance crews, manage inventory, and ensure safety and compliance in a busy hotel environment.

The role requires 5 years in a primary trade with supervisory experience, and a preference for computer literacy and professional licenses. This position is full-time and on-site at Kahala Hotel & Resort.

Qualifications

• 5 years experience in a primary trade (carpentry, plumbing, electronics, masonry, mechanics, HVAC, painting) and basic engineering procedures.
• Supervisory experience required.
• Computer experience preferred.
• Certification of tuberculosis clearance required; CPR and First Aid preferred; Hawaii driver’s license Type 3.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and instructs engineering department staff and coordinates with contractors/vendors.
• Assigns manpower and inspects work across multiple trades.
• Maintains logs, reviews material inventory, and generates required reports.
• Communicates with hotel management to optimize operations and energy usage.
• Instructs staff on procedures, standards, and safety policies.
