Job summary

Renaissance Honolulu Hotel & Spa in Honolulu, HI, seeks a strategic Director of Engineering to lead all hotel engineering, maintenance, facilities, and building operations. You will safeguard the property’s infrastructure, equipment, and assets while delivering safe, efficient, and high‑quality guest experiences.

You will manage an engineering team, oversee HVAC and life-safety systems, develop budgets, lead capital projects, and partner with departments to maximize room availability and guest

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities management, construction management, or related field.
• 5–7 years in engineering facilities leadership in hospitality or similar.
• Experience with life safety systems and certifications preferred.
• Ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance and building operations across the property.
• Oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boilers, and safety systems.
• Manage budgets, labor, inventory, and contracts.
• Develop capital projects and renovations with minimal guest disruption.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADA, fire and building codes.
• Partner with Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Sales, and Operations.
• Drive energy conservation and continuous improvement.
• Maintain vendor relationships and contracted services quality.
• Serve as a key hotel leadership team member for strategic planning.
