Job summary

Bishop & Co. is seeking a hands-on Director of Engineering for a premier resort in Honolulu, Hawaii.

You will oversee engineering, maintenance, and asset preservation in a 24/7 environment, leading a high-performing team to deliver exceptional guest experiences. The role requires deep technical expertise across building systems and a strong business acumen to manage budgets, capital projects, and regulatory compliance while partnering with resort leadership to enhance energy efficiency and

Qualifications

• Progressive leadership experience in engineering or facilities within luxury hospitality.
• Deep technical expertise in building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety).
• Experience overseeing large resort/hospitality maintenance operations.
• Proven track record managing capital projects and operating budgets.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements and building codes.

Responsibilities

• Direct engineering, maintenance, and facilities operations for the resort.
• Oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety systems.
• Develop preventive maintenance programs to extend asset life.
• Lead capital improvement projects and asset preservation initiatives.
• Ensure OSHA compliance and safety standards are met.
• Manage emergency preparedness and business continuity planning.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, purchasing, and inventory control.
• Collaborate with resort leadership to improve energy efficiency and sustainability.
• Mentor and develop the engineering team and foster accountability.
