Job summary

Island Hospitality Management is seeking a Chief Engineer for our hotel who enjoys hands-on problem solving and building maintenance. The role requires flexible scheduling and leadership of the maintenance team.

The Chief Engineer will troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, perform preventive maintenance, and coordinate with inspectors to ensure regulatory compliance. Pool upkeep and exterior maintenance are included in responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions in electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems and other hotel equipment.
• Perform ongoing room preventive maintenance and schedule work effectively.
• Inspect property to identify needs and ensure codes and regulations are met.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and plumbing issues.
• Conduct ongoing room preventative maintenance and prioritize work orders.
• Coordinate with inspectors to ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
• Maintain pool cleanliness and chemical content; oversee exterior maintenance when needed.
• Supervise and schedule maintenance staff; manage expenditures within budget.
