Job summary

HEI Hotels and Resorts is seeking a Chief Engineer to supervise preventive maintenance, life-safety compliance, and facility operations across the property. You will manage engineering staff, coordinate with other departments, and oversee capital projects to protect assets and guest experience.

The role requires hands-on expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, plus strong leadership and communication.

Qualifications

• Vocational schooling or equivalent in building trades (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry).
• 3+ years hands-on experience at a comparable location in hotel/maintenance.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to supervise staff and coordinate with other departments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preventive maintenance of mechanical/electrical systems and equipment.
• Supervise personnel, assign tasks, and monitor performance for maximum productivity.
• Maintain records for budgeting, PM programs, and life-safety inspections.
• Ensure compliance with codes, brand standards, and safety requirements.
• Coordinate capital projects and energy-efficiency improvements.
