Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts offers a 10–12 week internship program in housekeeping to provide college students with hands-on experience in a luxury hotel environment. The intern shadows leaders, participates in operational meetings and collaborates with associates and the leadership team to ensure daily success in the department.

The program aims to build a strong foundation for a long-term career in hospitality, immersing the intern in Housekeeping operations and guest service excellence.

Qualifications

• Recent or current graduate of a hospitality program preferred.
• Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers with patience, tact and diplomacy.
• Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 100 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; adapt style to audience.

Responsibilities

• Shadow identified leaders within the Housekeeping department at the hotel.
• Shadow each shift and each position within the Housekeeping department at the hotel.
• Consistently attend department meetings within Housekeeping and leadership meetings.
• Become proficient with operating the PMS and other systems used by Housekeeping.
• Utilize labor management tools to schedule and control labor costs.
• Interact positively with customers and resolve problems to maintain satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with Room Standard Operating Procedures and Policies.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
