Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts invites students to join a 10–12 week internship program focused on the hospitality industry. The Intern will shadow leaders, attend operational meetings and work alongside the Front of House team to ensure the day-to-day success of the department.

The program emphasizes hands-on learning in Food & Beverage, mentorship, and exposure to standard operating procedures, guest service excellence, and team collaboration within a luxury hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Recent or current graduate of a hospitality program preferred.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers and patrons.
• Ability to use point of service computer.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.

Responsibilities

• Shadow identified leaders within the department at the hotel.
• Shadow each shift and each position within the Outlet you are assigned to at the hotel.
• Consistently attend department meetings as well as any leadership meetings at the hotel.
• Become proficient with operating the PMS and all other systems used by the Food & Beverage team.
• Utilize labor management tools to schedule and control labor costs.
• Interact positively with customers and take action to resolve problems to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality.
• Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and Policies.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
• Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
