Job summary

New Belgium Brewing Company in Kalamazoo is seeking a full-time operations leader to oversee Front of House, Back of House and Event Programming teams, delivering a high-value on-premise guest experience. You will manage day-to-day onsite operations (40–45 hours per week), budgeting, staffing, marketing integration, and adherence to food, safety, and brand standards.

The role requires strong leadership, exceptional communication, and a proven track record of driving profitability and guest

Qualifications

• 3+ years of team management and customer service experience.
• Excellent communication with managers, coworkers, guests, and partners at all volume levels.
• Strong interpersonal and mediation abilities.
• Working knowledge of financial statements.
• Knowledge of brewing processes and the Food & Beverage industry.
• In-depth understanding of marketing/branding best practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication; public speaking.
• Proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct day-to-day onsite operations (40–45 hours/week).
• Guide strategic priorities, department goals, and initiatives while pursuing process improvements.
• Ensure profitable restaurant performance and optimal staff/resource utilization; oversee staffing.
• Oversee budgeting and department finances, manage profitability and allocate resources.
• Oversee inventory management and supply chain needs.
• Hire and develop staff; provide training and mentorship.
• Attract patrons through marketing, advertising, public relations, and community outreach; evaluate results.
• Integrate Sales and Branding campaigns into site aesthetics and guest experience.
• Maintain high standards of food, service, health, and safety; uphold legal requirements.
• Oversee maintenance, repairs, and vendor contracts; ensure equipment care.
• Participate in FOH, BOH & Event Programming teams as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

This position is responsible forcreating, directing, and maintaining ahigh value, on premise, guest experience, through the leadership and management of the Front of House (FOH), Back of House (BOH) & Event Programming Teams. This is a full-time position at our Downtown Kalamazoo Hospitality campus.

Essential Duties

• Oversee and direct day to day operations onsite (averaging 40-45 hours/week)
• Facilitation of strategic priorities, departmental goals, initiatives, andperformance work objectivesmanagement, while seeking process improvements.
• Ensure the efficient and profitable business performance of the restaurant and the optimal utilization of staff and resources. Oversee staff scheduling.
• Oversee and report on budgeting anddepartment finances, managing profitability & allocating resources.
• Oversee inventory management.
• Manage staffhiring and performance; provide training/mentoring and facilitate professional development
• Attract patrons by developing and implementing marketing, advertising, public and community relations programs; evaluating program results; identifying and tracking changing demands.
• Integration of Sales and Branding campaigns into the site aesthetic and experience
• Maintain high standards of food, service, health, and safety. Uphold legal requirements.
• Upkeep and attention to care of equipment and arrangements for repairs, contracts, and other services
• Active member of the FOH, BOH & Event Programming Teams as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Education/ Experience/Skills

• 3+ of team management and customer service experience.
• Exceptional customer service skills and abilities. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with all managers, coworkers, guests, and business partners at all business volume levels.
• High level interpersonal and mediation skills. Ability to deal with difficult situations and resolve matters appropriately and effectively
• Working knowledge of financial statements
• Knowledge of brewing processes and Food & Beverage industry
• In depth understanding of marketing/branding best practices and procedures
• Advanced verbal & written andpublic speaking skills
• Windows OS andMicrosoft Office experience desirable

Physical Requirements

• The position requires frequent, constant standing and walking.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours).
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
• Must be able to move and process information quickly.
• Continuously bend, reach, twist and use your hands and arms.

Wage information is provided in compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and is New Belgium's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation range and benefits offered for this position. The compensation offered to the successful applicant may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, or other position-related reasons.

Starting Salary Range: $75,000.00 - $87,000.00
