Placements24 in Upington, Northern Cape, seeks an experienced Hospitality Catering Manager to lead all catering operations across our client’s properties. You will design menus, manage inventory, supervise staff, control budgets, and uphold HACCP standards to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

We require at least five years in catering management, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to optimise costs while maintaining quality across events and daily operations.

About the Role

Our client, a reputable hospitality group operating in Upington, Northern Cape , is seeking a skilled and experienced Hospitality Catering Manager. This role is essential for overseeing and managing all catering operations within their establishments, ensuring the delivery of exceptional food and beverage services to guests. You will be responsible for menu planning, inventory management, staff supervision, budget control, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and hygiene. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality management, a passion for food and service, and proven leadership capabilities. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the catering division in a key tourism region of the Northern Cape .

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the catering department, including menu planning, food preparation, and service delivery.
• Oversee inventory management, procurement of supplies, and cost control to ensure profitability.
• Supervise, train, and schedule catering staff, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.
• Ensure strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (HACCP compliance).
• Develop and implement innovative menus that cater to diverse guest preferences and dietary needs.
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate catering services for events, functions, and daily operations.
• Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements to enhance guest satisfaction.
• Manage budgets for the catering department and report on financial performance.
• Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Ensure the quality and presentation of all food and beverage offerings meet company standards.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in catering management within the hospitality industry.
• Proven experience in menu development, inventory control, and staff supervision.
• Strong understanding of food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage budgets and control costs effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of relevant POS and inventory systems.
