Qualifications

• High school or equivalent.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Capable of communicating with all levels of employee-administrative to staff.
• Proficient in Microsoft Software (Word and Excel).

Responsibilities

• Direct incoming and outgoing calls.
• Process code emergencies via alarm panel or person to person.
• Process messages in SDC IntelliDesk to protect doctor/patient confidentiality.
• Maintain and update department schedules.
• Update doctor and staff contact information while maintaining confidentiality.
• Provide warm, courteous, professional call handling.
• Maintain accuracy in message taking and relaying information.
• Remain professional with irate callers.
• Assist staff and patients with call processing concerns.
• Comply with JCAHO requirements in Telecommunications.
• Monitor alarm panels at USC University Hospital and Norris.
• Compile call logs from SDC IntelliDesk.
• Assist with conference calls for medical staff.
• Prioritize tasks and adapt to changing technology.
• Ensure overhead paging is clear and professional.
• Maintain up-to-date medical staff coverage information.
• Maintain employee conduct per policy.
• Basic typing and Microsoft Word skills.
• Work a full 40-hour week on a set shift.
• Work independently and in a team.
• Take on new challenges and perform other duties.
