Job summary

Medical City Denton is seeking a Switchboard PBX Operator to route calls and provide courteous customer service to patients, physicians, staff and visitors. The position requires handling multiple tasks in a busy hospital setting and responding to emergencies according to protocol.

This PRN opportunity offers mixed 8-hour shifts and access to hospital resources within HCA Healthcare. Prior PBX or hospital experience is helpful but not required; strong customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous PBX and/or hospital experience helpful, but not required.
• Customer service skills required.
• Communication skills are necessary to communicate with patients, physicians, staff, public, and administration.
• Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain organization.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Must possess skills to make decisions upholding hospital/department policy and procedures.
• Must be able to work under heavy demands and a stressful environment with frequent interruptions.

Responsibilities

• Route calls into and out of the facility, providing good customer service to all callers.
• Respond to emergencies/codes by following proper protocol and notifying appropriate internal and external parties.
