Job summary

Highpoint Health- Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas is seeking a Switchboard Operator to manage all incoming calls to the hospital, handle in-house paging, codes and the dial-a-page system, and keep bulletin boards updated with current room numbers and on-call policies.

The role requires clear communication, coordination with nursing staff, and maintaining disaster procedure files under the supervision of the Director, Health Information Management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Receives incoming calls to hospital extensions and patient rooms.
• Handles all emergency calls and pages; contacts appropriate personnel as needed.
• Manages intercom paging and information for staff and visitors.
• May cover evenings, nights, weekends and holidays for on-call coordination.
• Keeps disaster policies and bulletin boards updated.
