Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare is seeking an on-site Operator II to manage switchboard duties, monitor building alarm panels, and coordinate STAT notifications at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. The role involves routing calls, maintaining logs, and assisting with training as needed.

The position is PRN with a variable shift and requires a high school diploma or equivalent; experience with hospital systems is a plus. Compensation ranges hourly based on experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with switchboard/communication systems is typical for this role.

Responsibilities

• Answer, screen, and relay calls.
• Process all notification of STAT code requests.
• Monitor alarm systems (911, radio system, fire panels, generators, paging, alarms).
• Process all requests for first responder notifications.
• Complete and maintain daily call logs.
• Assist with training of new staff as requested.
• Maintain call schedules across multiple departments.
