Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Per Diem - Rotating Shift Security Officer to provide a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. You will patrol assigned areas, investigate incidents, and assist in restraining individuals when authorized.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, confidentiality, and accurate reporting. You may coordinate with law enforcement and participate in departmental committees as needed. Onsite work location: 115 Mill Street.

Responsibilities

• Identifies unsafe conditions and improperly secured areas/property to help prevent theft, injuries or damages.
• Maintains strict confidentiality standards at all times.
• Investigates thefts, shortages, and other complaints; notifies law enforcement when needed; may detain individuals as appropriate.
• Prepares and submits written reports; logs incidents and keeps supervisor informed.
• Maintains accountability for valuables and evidence; ensures safekeeping.
• Performs as Dispatcher using security systems; coordinates responses by radio and phone.
• Assists with workplace and domestic victims; responds to medical emergencies; may restrain patients when authorized.
• Participates in departmental committees and teams as needed.
