Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a dedicated Security Officer for the Brigham and Women’s Hospital campus. The role runs 1 PM to 9 PM, Monday through Friday, providing a safe environment by patrolling assigned areas, enforcing security regulations, and reporting potential hazards.

The ideal candidate has strong customer service, de-escalation, and reporting skills, and can operate state-of-the-art security systems. Onsite at 10 Vining Street, with 40 hours per week and evening shift duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice preferred.
• Experience in hospital security or customer service preferred (3-5 years).
• Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to de-escalate and manage anxious individuals.
• Proficient in documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned areas to prevent theft and safety hazards.
• Investigates thefts and potential misconduct; notifies law enforcement as needed.
• Prepares written reports and maintains logs.
• Operates security communications and dispatches staff.
• Responds to medical emergencies and assists in restraint if needed.
• Maintains confidentiality and professionalism.
