Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Security Officer at Cooley Dickinson Hospital to support security and life safety operations on site. You will patrol assigned areas, enforce policies, and respond to emergencies, with documentation and collaboration with hospital staff.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, appropriate certifications, weekend/holiday availability, and experience in healthcare or law enforcement.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• AVADE (Workplace Violence Prevention) training required within 3 months of hire.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated basic computer skills.
• Good judgment and ability to interpret and follow instructions.
• 1 year experience and 21 years of age.
• Healthcare or law enforcement experience.
• Weekend and holiday availability required.
• Handcuffing certification within 2 weeks of hire.
• IAHSS basic certification within 90 days of hire.
• Exposure to OC spray with instruction/training.
• BLS within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Respond to security and life safety issues as needed.
• Perform rounds and inspect doors, windows, and gates for security.
• Detain or question unauthorized persons and notify police when appropriate.
• Operate and monitor emergency equipment and report malfunctions.
• Complete incident, safety, and shift reports accurately.
