Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Martha’s Vineyard Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Security Officer to maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

You will patrol facilities, monitor for hazards, and enforce security regulations while providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities include reporting incidents, coordinating with law enforcement as needed, supporting medical emergencies, and ensuring confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice preferred.
• Experience in hospital security or police is preferred.
• Licensed driver with valid Class D license.
• BLS Certification and violence prevention certifications preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas and monitor security vulnerabilities.
• Identify unsafe conditions and report incidents promptly.
• Maintain confidentiality of information at all times.
• Investigate thefts or misconduct; coordinate with law enforcement as needed.
• Prepare complete written incident reports and maintain logs.
• Respond to medical emergencies and assist with restraints when authorized.
• Direct traffic and support departments as required.
• Participate in departmental committees as needed.
