Bon Secours in Ashland, VA, seeks a Protective Services Officer (Unarmed) to safeguard patients, staff and visitors at the Ashland ED. You will patrol, escort and monitor for safety and security while adhering to hospital policies.

Required high school diploma or GED and BLS certification within 6 months; 1–2 years in security or related fields is preferred. Valid driver’s license and strong documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS Basic Life Support training within 6 months of hire.
• 1-2 years of security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Protects patients, visitors and employees by providing escorts, patrolling grounds, and mitigating environment of care safety hazards.
• Deters criminal activity through routine patrols of hospital property including parking lots and decks.
• Enforces policies such as parking, visitation, drug enforcement, and tobacco free/smoking policy.
• Monitors hospital activity on CCTV to respond to escalating situations.
• Intervenes in patient, visitor and staff confrontations as needed.
• Documents duties including daily activity logs and incident reports.
