Job summary

Luminis Health, Inc. Security Department is seeking a dedicated officer to safeguard patients, staff, visitors, and property across the Medical Center campus.

You will perform hazard surveillance, monitor CCTV, respond to emergencies, and log all activities to maintain a safe environment. Responsibilities include conducting criminal investigations, enforcing access control, training staff on safety, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required (or substitution with one extra year of security experience).
• 1 year healthcare safety/security experience preferred.
• Must pass criminal background check prior to employment.
• Strong verbal, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Complete Conflict Management training within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Maintain personal and asset security through hazard surveillance around patients, staff, and property.
• Monitor CCTV in the Control Center and keep logs and emails per policy.
• Respond to emergencies quickly and follow disaster plans; assist with patient restraints as needed.
• Investigate thefts and security incidents; keep supervisor informed.
• Prepare and submit complete written reports and daily event logs.
• Conduct safety screenings for weapons and contraband; ensure safe environment.
• Provide crisis intervention and staff training on safety topics.
• Perform regular patrols and inspect equipment; report concerns.
• Maintain valuables/evidence custody and documentation; manage keys and contractor badges.
• Escort staff and patients; assist with patient transport as needed.
• Adhere to policies and participate in meetings and mandatory trainings.
• Understanding regulations and reporting compliance issues through proper channels.
• Attend ongoing education; work collaboratively to support team.
