Job summary

Luminis Health is seeking a Security Officer to provide personal and asset protection across Medical Center facilities. The role emphasizes hazard surveillance, patient and staff safety, and rapid response to emergencies.

The Officer will perform security rounds, document incidents, and support safety training. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, and a willingness to obtain Maryland Guard Card and CPR/BLS certifications as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must pass a criminal records background check prior to employment.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Maryland driver's license with minimal points.
• BLS/CPR certification preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• IAHSS Basic Officer Certification preferred and may be required for promotion.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hazard surveillance rounds to protect patients, staff and hospital property.
• Monitor CCTV and communication logs; respond to emergencies per policy.
• Respond promptly to emergency calls and assist with patient restraints as needed.
• Conduct investigations into thefts or security incidents and report findings.
• Provide safety screenings for weapons and contraband.
• Escort staff, patients and visitors as required and maintain order.
• Maintain logs, reports and documentation of incidents and activities.
• Support crisis intervention and safety training for staff as needed.
