Job summary

Luminis Health is seeking a Security Officer to provide personal and asset protection across the Medical Center facility in Annapolis, MD. The role emphasizes hazard surveillance, CCTV monitoring, and rapid emergency response in collaboration with hospital leadership.

Responsibilities include conducting security rounds, reporting incidents, assisting with patient transport, and ensuring compliance with laws and department policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year healthcare safety/security experience preferred.
• Pass criminal background check.
• Maryland Security Guard Card preferred.
• Strong verbal and customer service skills required.
• Conflict management training and de-escalation ability desired.
• Valid Maryland driver’s license or state equivalent with clean record.
• BLS/CPR certification preferred and must be obtained within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Maintain personal and asset security through hazard surveillance rounds.
• Monitor CCTV and secure logs and communications.
• Respond to emergencies following established guidelines and assist with patient restraints if needed.
• Conduct investigations into thefts or misconduct and report outcomes.
• Provide safety screening for weapons and contraband.
• Escort staff, patients, and visitors and assist with safe transports.
• Oversee access control, badges, and parking enforcement as needed.
• Support department goals and adhere to policies and safety standards.
