Job summary

Luminis Health is seeking a Security Officer to provide personal and asset protection across the Medical Center facility. The role emphasizes hazard surveillance, emergency response, and collaboration with staff to maintain a safe care environment.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, potential background check, and preferred certifications such as MD Guard Card, BLS/CPR, and IAHSS. The position may require various shifts and interaction with patients and visitors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of Health care Safety and Security experience preferred.
• Must pass a criminal records background check.
• Maryland Security Guard Card preferred.
• BLS/CPR certification preferred and must obtain within 90 days of hire.
• IAHSS Basic Officer Certification preferred; required for promotion.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hazard surveillance rounds with emphasis on protecting patients, staff and property.
• Respond to emergency calls following established guidelines and assist with patient transports when needed.
• Maintain CCTV monitoring and logs; report incidents and prepare written reports.
• Readiness to conduct safety screenings for weapons and contraband.
• Provide safety escorts and support for staff, visitors and patients.
• Participate in drills and adhere to compliance and department policies.
