Job summary

Luminis Health, Inc. is seeking a Security Officer to protect patients, staff, and visitors across the Medical Center. You will conduct comprehensive hazard surveillance, monitor CCTV and logs, respond to emergencies, and assist with safety and security operations.

Responsibilities include conducting security screenings, preparing incident reports, and enforcing access control, with opportunities for further certification and advancement in healthcare security.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year of healthcare safety and security experience preferred.
• Must pass criminal records background check.
• Maryland Security Guard Card preferred.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• BLS/CPR certification preferred; must obtain within 90 days of hire.
• IAHSS Basic Officer Certification preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Maryland driver’s license with ≤2 points.

Responsibilities

• Maintain personal and asset security with hazard surveillance rounds.
• Monitor CCTV, logs, and email correspondence per policy.
• Respond to emergencies following guidelines and assist with patient restraints if needed.
• Prepare written reports and logs of incidents and responses.
• Conduct safety screening for weapons, contraband, and unauthorized items.
• Provide safety escorts and assist staff, visitors, and patients as requested.
• Enforce parking control, access badges, and building safety systems.
