Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Police Officer for Springfield Regional Medical Center to provide internal and external safety functions, respond to calls, and assist with investigations when warranted.

You will patrol hospital grounds, escort patients and staff, enforce policies, monitor CCTV, and document incidents. A high school diploma or GED is required; an Associate's degree is preferred. Valid driver’s license and BLS/CPR and state certification must be obtained within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (required).
• Associate's degree (preferred).
• Experience in security, law enforcement, or military is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Protects patients, visitors and employees by providing escorts, patrolling grounds and mitigating safety hazards.
• Deters criminal activity through routine patrols of hospital property including parking areas.
• Enforces policies such as parking regulations, visitation policies and drug/tobacco policies.
• Monitors activity via CCTV and coordinates with protective services as needed.
• Documents duties in daily logs and incident reports and participates in emergency procedures.
