Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Protective Services Officer for weekend shifts to help safeguard patients, visitors, and staff across Mercy Health facilities. You will conduct patrols, monitor CCTV, enforce policies, and document incidents in daily logs, ensuring rapid response to emergencies.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and BLS certification within six months. Prior security or law enforcement experience is preferred and TASER licensure/training within

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1-2 years of security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• BLS Basic Life Support certification within 6 months of hire.
• RSFH Specific licensure (armed – TASER) within 6 months of hire and TASER Training within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients, visitors, and employees and patrol grounds.
• Deter criminal activity through routine patrols of hospital property.
• Enforce parking, visitation, drug, and tobacco policies.
• Monitor activity via CCTV and respond to escalating situations.
• Intervene in confrontations and document incidents daily.
