Job summary

Mercy Health in Springfield seeks a Police Officer to ensure safety for patients, visitors, and staff across facilities. You will patrol, respond to calls, and support investigations while enforcing hospital policies and procedures.

Required are a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and safety certifications with training within 6 months of hire. The role includes ongoing training and a strong commitment to the Mercy Health mission.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• BLS Basic Life Support certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy Certification required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Protect patients, visitors and employees by providing escorts and patrolling grounds.
• Deters criminal activity through routine patrols of hospital property.
• Enforces parking, visitation, drug, and smoking policies.
• Monitors CCTV and responds to potential safety issues.
• Intervenes in confrontations as needed and documents all duties performed.
• Follows emergency procedures, alarms, evacuations and disaster plans.
