Job summary

Aurora Health Care is seeking a Security Aide to patrol interior and exterior areas of a Milwaukee hospital, inspect doors and departments for hazards, and report suspicious activity. The role may include stationary posts for visitor control and assisting patients and visitors with directions and information.

This position requires a valid driver's license, a high school diploma, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including off-shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Conducts regular interior and exterior patrols to ensure safety and security of the property.
• Inspects exit doors, offices, storerooms, and departments for hazards and security.
• Monitors and reports suspicious activity on hospital property and surroundings.
• May be assigned to a stationary post to deter visitor activity in a designated area.
• Assists patients and visitors by providing information and directions in the facility.
• Performs routine lost and found pickups as needed.
• Patrols parking lots to ensure policy compliance; may assist in coordinating contracted security for parking.
• Issues police citations and/or towing services as needed; maintains violation records for 12 months.
• Monitors traffic and reports safety hazards to the LPS Sergeant.
• May perform medical standby in emergencies not requiring a security officer.
