Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree desirable.
• Successful completion of an academic or military hospital pharmacy technician training course preferred.
• 6 months pharmacy technician experience or healthcare experience required.
• Current registration/licensure as Pharmacy Technician; PTCB certification preferred within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Medication distribution: pick, prepare, package, label, and deliver medications to units.
• Inventory management: maintain stock levels and rotate stock by expiration.
• Cross-functional proficiency: perform tasks across distribution, automation, and aseptic processes.
• Technical expertise: use EMR, ADS, and barcode systems; troubleshoot technology issues.
• Communication: respond to nursing, provider, and staff inquiries; maintain HIPAA-compliant records.
• Support and compliance: ensure safe, accurate medication preparation and distribution.
