Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support prescription processing, data entry, and patient service within the hospital pharmacy. The role includes preparing medications, assisting with third-party adjudication, and ensuring accurate labeling and packaging for verification by the pharmacist.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 6 months of pharmacy technician or healthcare experience, and active or soon-to-be-held PTCB certification.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with pharmacy-related training.
  • 6 months Pharmacy technician or healthcare experience required.
  • PTCB certification preferred or eligible within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Prescription Processing & Preparation: enter patient data, transcribe orders, verify dosages and quantities, assist with third party adjudication, prepare and label medications.
  • Customer Service: assist patients at register, answer calls, locate OTC items, communicate with medical team while protecting HIPAA.
  • Department Maintenance: maintain cleanliness, regulatory record-keeping, stocking, and opening/closing procedures.
  • Inventory management: stock OTC items, manage stock rotation, remove expired meds, place daily orders with wholesaler.
