Job summary

Tufts Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Operations Specialist to join the Specialty Pharmacy Medication Access Team. This role collaborates with clinicians to optimize medication access, procurement, storage, preparation, and distribution while leading process improvements across the department.

The candidate will supervise staff, mentor residents and interns, review drug use, and participate in committees. Strong communication, teaching, and EMR skills are required for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy required.
• Licensed Pharmacist in good standing.
• Three years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise personnel in a service area during a scheduled shift.
• Ensure all work assignments are completed by end of shift.
• Serve as primary preceptor for PGY1 residents, students, and interns.
• Coordinate policy reviews related to pharmacy operations.
• Identify needs and create new policies and procedures.
• Initiate and facilitate drug use evaluations.
• Provide continuing education for hospital staff.
• Review therapeutic drug classes for committees and formulary.
• Present evidence-based drug reviews to committees.
• Demonstrate clinical leadership in hospital committees and education activities.
• Support development of pharmacy operations and clinical pharmacists.
• Analyze drug usage trends and report findings to leadership.
