Job summary

StoneSprings Hospital Center is seeking a Switchboard PBX Operator to promptly answer incoming calls, assist with outgoing calls, greet visitors, and provide accurate hospital directions while coordinating with appropriate personnel. You will respond to code alerts, notify staff, handle long-distance calls, assist with patient room inquiries and billing for extensions.

The role requires 2 to 5 years of switchboard or customer service experience and may include weekday nights with rotating

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years’ experience switchboard operator/customer service experience is preferred
• Medical terminology is a plus
• Possess the ability to work weekday nights mixed with rotating Weekend day shift 7a-7p.

Responsibilities

• Monitor fire panel alarms and phones where applicable, contacting the fire department and appropriate personnel when needed.
• Answer hospital visitor questions and complaints, seeking guidance from Director of Security as appropriate.
• Place and process long distance and Watts Line Calls for various departments and doctors' offices.
• Assist patient rooms by advising how to place local and long distance calls and assisting extensions in determining proper billing in getting outside lines.
• Process, forward and deliver patient mail and flowers with assistance from volunteer staff.
