Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Webster, MA is seeking a Patient Transporter to escort ambulatory patients, assist nursing staff, and transport specimens and materials within the hospital. The role requires adherence to safety and infection control procedures and active coordination with the TDSS dispatch system.

Shifts vary with a 4 - Mixed Shift and 4.5 hours per shift; full-time schedule is 40 hours per week with potential on-call duties. Signing bonus may be available during interview discussions.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Good interpersonal skills and a customer service focus.

Responsibilities

• Escort ambulatory patients by wheelchair, stretcher or bed and verify patient IDs.
• Assist nursing staff in moving patients and use lift devices as needed.
• Deliver stretchers, beds and wheelchairs; clean transport equipment regularly.
• Transport specimens and other materials following infection control guidelines.
• Interact with dispatch system and maintain transport logs.
