Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Southbridge/Webster, MA is seeking a Part-time Patient & Equipment Transporter to move patients by wheelchair or bed, assist nursing staff, and deliver supplies across the hospital. This on-site role requires good English communication and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Good inter-personal skills and a customer service orientation.
• Preferred: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Preferred: Six months’ experience in a hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Interprets and follows transport procedures to move patients by wheelchair, stretcher or bed.
• Assists nursing staff with patient transfers and position changes.
• Delivers beds, stretchers, wheelchairs and other equipment across the hospital.
• Transports patient specimens and units as required per protocol.
• Maintains transport logs and uses dispatch system for assignments.
• Supports triage transport during emergency situations when needed.
• Adheres to infection control and safety standards.
