Job summary

VCU Health is seeking a Patient Flow Coordinator to efficiently coordinate health care services across VCUHS facilities and community partners. You will manage patient placement, bed assignments, and transfer referrals in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with physicians, nurse managers, bed management, and transportation teams to ensure timely care.

The role requires nursing background with RN licensure and three years of acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Associate’s degree from an approved nursing program.
• RN licensure in Virginia or eligible compact.
• Three years of clinical experience in an acute care setting.
• Preferred Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient flow and bed placement based on clinical status.
• Triages and manages transfer referrals to optimize care delivery.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse managers, EVS, and transport teams.
• Monitor regulatory policies and EMTALA compliance.
• Support One Call Center operations and multi-function tasks.
