Job summary

VCU Health is seeking a Clinical Coordinator to manage patient flow and coordinate unit activities during shifts. The role requires current Virginia RN licensure or eligibility, BLS certification, and supervisory experience to ensure efficient, compassionate care.

The position supports nursing staff and collaborates with the Nurse Manager to maintain high-quality patient outcomes across shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Requires current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible/compact state.
• AHA BLS HCP certification or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience; charge nurse or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates patient flow on the nursing unit during assigned shift.
• Coordinates activities and communication for the unit; plans and organizes work with input from patients/families.
• Supervises staff on shift (RNs, LPNs, care partners, unit secretaries).
• Rotates shifts, weekends and holidays; schedules adjusted to meet unit needs.

Education

Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing

RN to BSN enrollment within 2 years
