Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Of New England, is seeking a Message Center Operator to join our mission-driven healthcare team with a rotating, part-time schedule.

As the operator, you will manage a multi-line switchboard, relay calls, operate the PA system, respond to code situations, and provide courteous information to patients and staff. Experience in telephone answering and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• One year of telephone-answering experience as the primary job.
• Analytical ability to gather and interpret data in simple scenarios.
• Excellent listening, verbal and written communication; accurate typing and spelling.
• Multilingual a plus; courteous and tactful in patient and staff interactions.

Responsibilities

• Operates a multi-line telephone console in a hospital switchboard to answer, transfer and relay calls.
• Operates public address system as requested by staff.
• Identifies and responds to code situations.
• Provides routine patient information and routes inquiries to supervisors.
• Delivers excellent customer service to all callers.
• Contacts security for escorts or other assistance as needed.
